STANDARD TUNING
Every string is tuned to concert pitch (A440) so your piano sounds right on its own and alongside other instruments, recordings and singers.
While we're there, we check that the keys and pedals work as they should and let you know if anything needs attention.
PITCH RAISE
When a piano has gone a long time without tuning, it can sink well below pitch. A pitch raise brings the whole piano up close to pitch first, so the fine tuning that follows is stable.
We'll let you know if your piano needs a pitch raise before any work begins.
MINOR REPAIRS
Small problems can make a piano frustrating to play. We can look at common issues and let you know what's involved before doing any work.
PIANO CARE
Most pianos in a home benefit from tuning once or twice a year. Pianos that are played heavily may need it more often.
Moving a piano can shift its tuning. It's best to let it settle in its new room for a couple of weeks before tuning.
Keep your piano away from heating vents, fireplaces, open windows and direct sunlight to help it hold its tune.
